About Gabrielle
Gabrielle is an ambitious mother of three that runs Lifted Mama with compassion and expertise.
She experienced serious pelvic floor issues after the birth of her third child. It was brought to her attention that many women do too, without reaching out for help. Often times women suffer in silence, dealing with many issues while continuing with their daily life. Meanwhile it's difficult to jump, laugh and sneeze in public for fear that we might wet our pants! She became very passionate about the pelvic floor, when it became apparent that she had little control over her bladder. She needed to understand why her body wasn't functioning the way she was used to. That was the spring board to learning how to heal herself, and in turn wanting to help other women. She saw a need for postpartum guidance and a lack of pelvic health educational resources available. This is how Lifted Mama was born!
Born and raised in Quebec City, Canada, Gabrielle moved to Texas in 2011 to work as a professional synchronized swimmer. She left her home town for a contract of one year, fast forward to many years later, she finds herself still in Texas. Her and her husband have established roots in San Antonio, all while raising little French speaking Texans. Motherhood challenged her in many ways. She found out the hard way that she needed to start taking care of herself in a literal and spiritual way. Motherhood challenged her to experience the spiritual side of yoga. Helping her reconnect with her body, but most importantly allowing her to go through moving meditation. Calming her mind, quieting the chaos, giving her the space to feel whole again. She found that every postpartum journey was different from the one prior and she had to dive deeper into her yoga practice to reconnect with her inner being. Over the years, She has learned to stop comparing her journey with other mothers. she's continually working on giving herself grace and the recognition that she is enough.
